Description

Representing Strategic Way Consulting, this assignment is at our Client location situated on the Lake Huron shoreline between the towns of Kincardine and Saugeen Shores. We are looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative Project Analyst to join our growing team of driven professionals. Working closely with a Project Manager in a dynamic and fast pace mega-project construction environment this individual will be required to be responsive, take initiative, manage multiple priorities and work with minimal direction.   

Assignment Details:

  • Maintain project timeframes, objectives and communications
  • Create and manage documentation and reports for projects
  • Assist in the identification of the goals and requirements of each project 
  • Verify data and information and analyze it to suit the direction of a project
  • Track, forecast and report on project progress including metrics and challenges
  • Collect the necessary information required to properly track project performance
  • Maintain current knowledge on the legislation and regulations applicable to each project
  • Preparation of project-related correspondence; letter, memos, e-mails, etc.
  • Consistent follow up with vendors on all project related action items
  • Process technical product and drawing submittals electronically
  • Distribution and tracking of project related technical materials in conjunction with the
    Project Manager
  • Maintenance of all project logs utilizing client software, and other document control systems; including request for information, proposal request, cost event, project cost reports, etc.
  • Assist in tracking and review of change orders
  • Assist in the coordination and scheduling of meetings
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of monthly project progress reports; i.e.,
    projected cost reports, schedules and status reports
  • Updating contract documents during construction process
  • Attendance at project meetings; Produce and distribute meeting minutes, as required
  • Process and track vendor invoices, where required
  • Produce and coordinate closeout activities
  • Ensure that all aspects of a project are organized and in conformance with timeline and deliverables requirement
  • Develop and maintain project performance database that tracks overall progress and achievement of milestones
  • Report project risks and outcomes to appropriate management channels, and escalate issues according to project work plan
  • Serve as point of communication between company teams and external resources
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, and project coordination skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new tools with minimum guidance and work independently.
  • Willingness to make decisions and solve problems
  • Demonstrated aptitude to prioritize tasks based on comparative importance and urgency
  • Professional business communications  
  • Ability to sort through high task demand (often through email or ad-hoc requests), and stay focused on core deliverables

  • All other duties as assigned

Experience

  • Minimum 1-3 years working in a similar role in a similar field (e.g. construction, energy or other)
  • Experience in coordinating teams and clients; strong stakeholder management
  • Proven success in a corporate setting, collaborating with all levels of management
  • Strong understanding in project management and data analysis
  • Proficient in computer technology and Microsoft Office applications
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations and standards in the nuclear industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional research and reporting skills; intermediate Excel and Power Bi experience considered an asset
  • Previous experience working in a nuclear power plant or major construction project is preferred
  • Understanding of Maximo ERP and Primavera P6 software  considered an asset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in relevant field BSc/BA in construction and/or project management, business, analytics, architecture, engineering or relevant field
  • Professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • Certification in Primavera P6, considered an asset
  • Valid nuclear site security clearance is considered an asset
